Davide Tessuto29 August 2026It was my fifth visit to Venice, but this was the first time I’d decided to go on a gondola ride to give my daughter an interesting experience, and we had a brilliant time – until then, I’d had the wrong idea about this attraction. I deliberately chose this company because I wanted a peaceful ride through the smaller canals, though of course the Grand Canal was a must. Our gondolier, nicknamed ‘il Capitano’, was brilliant – professional and completely natural, with none of that over-the-top tourist kitsch. We need more organization in peak periods from agencies and gondoliers I put 3 stars for a reason: even if you book, you are not sure not to wait and have what you book for, because it all depends on the crowding and in all probability, reservations made through services like Gondolieri Travel are not organized in a database so that those who actually have to organize gondola rides know how many people there will be. Result, starting from the point “Gondola Danieli”, we received only 22 minutes, and we also had to wait 10 minutes. There were too many people. We went at 7pm which I would recommend as it started to cool down from the hot day. It was relaxing and I wish was a little bit longer. MaureenScrivener23 September 2022Disappointing experience We choose the 1-hour private gondola ride, and the extra time was worth it I suppose. Granted if we had gone to a gondola station it would have been cheaper and we wouldn't have started off on the Grand Canal which was quite choppy. As it was high tide, we were not able to sit together on the main seat (so not as romantic as I thought it would be) because the front of the gondola was too high to get under the low bridges. The bonus being I got many pictures of my other half on the seat in front. On the downside our Gondola was quite shabby (if we would have booked it there, we could have chosen one) and the Gondolier hardly spoke to us but a lot in Italian to the other gondoliers. Didn't make us feel special which we had expected for the money we paid. Not an experience I will ever repeat. Though Venice from a gondola is beautiful and peaceful.Posted on Tripadvisor

Our guide was friendly and gave us snippets of information on several landmarks. We entered the grand canale and saw Rialto Bridge to our right but only for several seconds before we headed away and then back down the narrow waters. Unfortunately, our experience only confirmed what only a few others had said about this one. The gondola ride only lasted about 20 minutes, even though it was supposed to take 30 mins (one third less!). Those 20 minutes were lovely and we really enjoyed the experience, but it just leaves a niggling after-taste if you feel taken advantage of. We knew the whole experience is very poor value for money and just one of those things you have to accept. But negotiating the price with the gondolieri on the day might have been better (we didn't want to run the risk of having to wait or not getting a ride and hence pre-booked here).Posted on Tripadvisor

Our group of seven was put into 2 gondolas that went most of the way together or at least very close. We were very concerned about the prosecco (long, HOT day in Venice) but stopped a dock over from the place from which we took off and we were much happier!! A gondola ride in Venice! Wow. Our guide didn't really give any narrative, but our other group's guide did. Our guide didn't take pictures for us, but the other group's guide did. Since I was more interested in hearing about the places we saw, I opted not to have singing as part of the experience. Our driver was ready and expecting us. He spoke perfect English and even understood American idioms. We learned that his family is multigenerational Venetian. He pointed out buildings of interest and at my request, he pointed out Mozart’s home as we approached it. We went from a deserted narrow canal and soon we entered the Grand Canal where we saw the Rialto Bridge. A fun time that I highly recommend!Posted on Tripadvisor

He was right and we enjoyed his information about the sights and benefitted from his advice on what to see and where to go. Sarah C14 June 2022Decent enough but not worth price Decent enough but not worth price. If you are thinking about a Gondola NOT in peak season, I would just get one from a canal without pre-booking. Pretty steep charge compared to other boats and only 25 minutes on the Gondola itself. If you are going to Venice during peak season, I would say the price could be worth it because you are getting to skip lines. Bovendien was het in deze tijd niet druk (heerlijk!) dus het wordt dan ook wat goedkoper aangeboden. Leuk om door de vaarstraten van de stad te varen. Zo ervaar je de stad op een andere manier. Erin23 February 2020Nice Was very nice and calming. Glad we booked ahead of time because we didn't have to wait at all but the ride said 30 minutes and I think our was just over a 20 minute ride. It wouldn't be that much of an issue except that it was a little pricey so it would have been nice to get the full time. smeeinnit29 January 2020Wonderful experience After an initial bit of confusion (on my part) the host was very helpful, I managed to rearrange the ride without trouble. Our hosts met us at the meeting point in San Marcos Square as advised and on time, after waiting just a few minutes for other guests to arrive, we was led a short 3 or 4 minute walk to our gondola. The ride itself lasts approximately 30 minutes and takes you along grand canal before turning into the narrow canals of the city where you can experience piece and tranquility whilst being in a city!! It’s an experience I’d recommend anyone to do, save yourself some money and share a gondola via booking here, you won’t be disappointed. Ci ha impressionato sopratutto poter passare sotto il famoso Ponte dei Sospiri. Esperienza da provare assolutamente
