Other Useful Information

Departing from the San Tomà gondola station, in San Polo, close to the famous Frari Church, the gondola starts on the Grand Canal and we enter into the hidden wonders of this itinerary.

Following the San Polo Canal we view palazzos and noble residences in various historical styles. On board you will taste some “cicchetti” (typical Venetian finger food) with a bottle of sparkling Prosecco wine to enjoy during the journey.

Culled by the peace of the internal canals, you will remain stunned by the rare artistic wonders that you can view only from the gondola. Returning to the Grand Canal, passing typical Gothic and Renaissance works like Palazzo Barbaro and Palazzo Corner Spinelli, the Rialto Bridge peeks into sight, and we conclude the tour with the return to the starting dock.

Following the San Polo Canal we pass Campo San Boldo, with its truncated bell-tower, one of the special hidden corners of the city. Following smaller internal canals, we reach the Grand Canal and admire Ca’ d’Oro, the Gothic palazzo facing the Rialto market. The lively market, largest in the city, still attracts Venetians and tourists to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables, but especially fish from the Adriatic.

We continue along the Grand Canal, passing Palazzo Cà Pesaro, today home to the International Gallery of Modern Art, and passing under the Rialto Bridge, to conclude the tour at the starting dock
